Huben, a little lovely Paradise
admin February 25th, 2007

In 2004, the first time we went to Austria, we spent our first week there in a small town called Huben. It’s very tiny, there are about 100 inhabitants in all! Nevertheless it is truly beautiful. It is located at the foot of some very imposing mountains, with an abundance of trails for those who, like us, love strolling immersed in the green of the Austrian woods, while admiring the great mountaintops that surround you.
The only real problem with this place is the cold. In the middle of August, as soon as we woke up in the morning (we woke up early, at around 7) it was already 14 degrees Celsius. Yes, you read right, 14 degrees Celsius!! This is because the town is located directly in between two huge mountain chains, therefore the sun comes out quite late, around 9 in the morning, and it sets early, at 7 in the evening (in the middle of summer, like I said!).
I wouldn’t dare imagine what it’s like here in the winter…! Brr…!
