The whole trip to S.Alessio park started in the early morning and ended in the afternoon, so not very long (including the 2h drive we had to take). Still it was a very pleasant trip, not boring at all! we planned it in advance, so we bought some food like toasts, sandwiches, pizza and tasteful “crescenti” (a kind of salty bread, cooked in an oven, typical of our zone) so we could use the existing “pic-nic” zone inside the park, which is very large with lot of seats.
In the pictures below you can see more funny inhabitants of the park. Some ibis so colorful that even my digital camera had some troubles to picture their red feathers color correctly!

A very cute parrot featuring some wonderful colours…

A happy turtles family that was having a sort of trip in a small river nearby…

and more animals like the fawn below that was a bit scared even if I took the photo from long distance!

As you can see, this place is really worth a visit, you won’t be bored for sure! In addition, remember that in the neighbour area there’s also the famous churches complex of “Certosa di Pavia”, so if you want you can see both things at once… we did it that same afternoon, as I’ll tell you in the next articles.

The natural park of S.Alessio it’s specialized in the recovery of wild birds, founded in the year 1994 with the help of LIPU - Lega Italiana Protezione Uccelli
We decided to visit it during the month of March a few years ago. It is situated nearby the town of Pavia, following the directions from the official website should be fairly easy to find it. As soon as we arrived, we could admire the majesty of the entrance (photo above).

As you can see from those two photos, there aren’t only birds inside the natural park, but also other species of animals… more or less interesting and dangerous, depending on the point of views!

Anyway once you enter in the green zone, full of trees, it is really a funny situation: it’s almost a treasure hunt, trying to spot all the various birds on the trees’ branches.
This owl in the photo below for example (I think is an owl or something similar) was really well camouflaged, and I had to use my digital camera zoom to photograph it.

In the cages there were more particular and exotic birds like this tucano (I think) below:

this cute small white parrot instead was free to wander around at will… very funny also because he was talking to you, you could almost think he was trying to socialize with you!

… and lastly those two below, of color brown-red, that were always together like a couple:

Lido delle Nazioni is a resort that is found on the Adriatic Riviera: 2 years ago I decided to celebrate my girlfriend’s birthday by spending a weekend there.
A friend of mine who has a house there kindly lent me the keys, so why not take advantage?
I have to say that I was pretty upset with the place… there was nothing special about the sea and there were a lot of people there (I hate crowds).
But I have to admit that the restaurant along the seafront that we stopped to eat at wasn’t bad! We inhaled an enormous plate of spaghetti with crustaceans, with a delicious white wine. If you aren’t afraid to let your mouth water look here below:

Both of us only spent a combined total of 17 euros, not bad. Unfortunately, I don’t remember the name of the restaurant…
