If you’re planning to visit Scotland, you may be looking for a fun alternative to staying in yet another hotel? What if you were offered the opportunity to rent a castle, for example? LTR (Loyd & Townsend Rose) can offer just that.
Scotland has many privately owned historic houses, mansions and castles, but most of these are not accessible to the public. But some are available for private rentals and LTR can offer this from its prestigious portfolio.
These luxury homes have huge character and offer a glimpse into a bygone era. They were built for entertaining and they effortlessly accommodate large numbers of guests. They are the perfect venue for an intimate gathering of family and old friends or a group of business colleagues who need to escape the pressures of the office and chat in a more sedate environment.

The Dozza fortress, a town between Bologna and Imola, is really very pretty and is well worth a visit. The scenery is very beautiful; once you’ve gone up to the top of the fortress you can admire the surrounding hills are cultivated with numerous vineyards (the local wines are excellent). There are various restaurants in the town center, with specialties like “pumpkin pie” or simply excellent tigelle / crescentine to taste with cheese and honey.

All of this at the cost of your diet of course! But you could repair that by taking a long walk along the streets of the city full of decorations on the walls. In fact, Dozza is famous for this type of art, of which you can see an example in the picture above.

The pronunciation of its name is particularly difficult, but going there to see it is truly worthwhile. This photo was taken from the Marienbrücke bridge, from where you can better admire it. It is probably one of the most famous castles in the world (if not the most famous) it’s no coincidence that people say that Disney was inspired by it while creating the famous Disneyland logo!
When I went there I didn’t visit the inside because at the moment there was a really long line and I preferred to enjoy the view from the outside, truly splendid!
